For the most part, working as an Internet Marketer is a lonely job. That is sometimes the reason individuals choose to pursue it! At the same time, when you spend virtually all of your time working alone, it can be difficult to know what you do when you run into a roadblock. The IM world is full of these kinds of pitfalls. People make all sorts of mistakes. And figuring out the best way to get around and get over those things can be a major problem. Thankfully, you don't have to try to make it all better all by yourself. You can get the help you need. Here is how you do that.
1. The first thing to do is research the problem that is holding you back. For example, if you're having trouble attracting traffic to your website, look both online and in your local library for marketing and promotions info. Read books and articles that are geared toward people who are having the same problems you are. You might be surprised by how much information you can find both on and off the internet.
2. Search the forums. It is highly unlikely that you are the first person to experience your particular problem. Dozens (if not more) men and women have probably already faced your issues. The best place to find out how others have solved your problem is by participating to forums. Find forums that will relate to your niche and your particular business. Post a new thread that describes your problems and ask people to help you solve them. The amount of support and advice you will receive will probably really astonish you. For people in IM, the Warrior Forum, in particular, is full of people who are just waiting to help you get back to your routine.
3. Talk to an expert. For some reason, particularly in IM, people regard those who are at the top of the field as untouchable and unreachable. This could not be farther from the truth. If there is someone that you admire or that you are trying to emulate, talk to them! Write and send an e-mail that is short but sweet and polite that explains who you are, how you admire his or her work and then asks for advice on your particular issue. You need to make absolutely sure that your email is friendly and polite. Most of the time you will get an equally friendly and professional response that will actually help you solve your issues. In the world of IM, shyness really doesn't pay.
There are other places to ask for help as well. You could try your local small business resource center or community college. Ask your old teachers and professors for help. You could even post an ad online on a board like Craigslist. There are many ways to find the help you need so you shouldn't be afraid to ask for it. Remember that even though IM seems like a very lonely life, the community is full of nice and friendly people who love helping others find success.
