So you've created your personal website and written several posts. It appears great, and also the content is ideal. So why aren't people visiting?
One word: Google.
People aren't visiting your personal website because they're using Google to search for things, and your site isn't being found this is because isn't indexed. Google may eventually find your blog post, but you can master how to win your website indexed by Google; it's really pretty quick.
First, attend google.com/webmasters and register, in case you don't have a Google account. Then click the "Add Site" button. You're going to be asked to verify the positioning, either by adding a meta tag from your site's home page, uploading an HTML file on your server, or linking to your Google Analytics account. That's it.
Now you have to fine tune your site's rankings in Google. This is done via a special formula called Page Rank, or PR for so few. How do you improve your Page Rank?
First, it's all about links. Each link to your blog from other websites boosts the reputation of your blog post. The greater and even more popular the positioning is, the higher, and also the higher the PR will be.
Make friends with bloggers locally of concern. Comment on their posts, are willing to write posts to them or ask each of them write one for you. Create hyperlinks to their sites, and that they may reciprocate, increasing your PR.
Second, ensure you use keywords on your own website that people will be trying to find. Use keyword search tool that tell you the popularity of search terms (Wordtracker or Market Samurai for example). Use them in the headlines, the title and/or the whole body of your respective content.
Finally, keep writing good content! The more content and keywords you have, the more pages that Google will index.
Now you understand how to take your website indexed by Google. With a portion of work and some patience, your blog post will begin to indicate up in search results - and you will get traffic.
