There are many reasons for you to use Internet marketing. It gives you the ability to spend your time, not your money, advertising your business. It gives you access to a much broader market than any brick and mortar business. It gives you that much-relished opportunity to knock the chocolate out of those corporate behemoths who laugh at the face of Internet marketing, kicking small businesses around like proverbial 98-pound weaklings and showing off their bully boy tactics.
Online marketing is beautiful because it levels the playing field for all players, big and small. The key is search engine optimization. Why, it's search engine optimization - those big movers and shakers may have all the moolah to pay for top search engine rankings, but they would not have the edge over you. Come to think of it, they have nobody to buy off anyways. Buying banner ads would be their best course of action, but come on - banner ads??? The only prayer they have would be doing a better search engine optimization job than you, but otherwise, the first pages of Google, Yahoo and MSN are yours for the taking. Honestly, if you believe a brick and mortar industry that isn't in the Fortune 500 can pull this off, then you probably believe Elvis is alive and living in Las Vegas.
The second primary reason to use online marketing would be bragging rights. Dominant brick and mortar companies use marketing firms to push their brands on television, billboards, magazines and so on. In all likelihood these companies also make use of marketing companies to design their websites! Topping these big money bozos on the search engines is like pitting David vs Goliath, and you know how that went - not a prayer for the big guy. The big boys, though, will never fess up to their sheer ignorance about Internet business, thinking that money can buy an online presence, banner ads, the whole nine yards, but brothers and sisters, money can't buy everything. Money cannot, and will not buy search engine rankings, and you always want to one-up those free spenders in the most humiliating way possible.
You, however, aren't going to waste money by purchasing banner ads and other ads that will waste your money. Nope, you are going to pursue search engine optimization on your own or through a credible group. While the dominant company is spending $20 a click for their ads, you are going to be laughing your way to the bank as customers pour in from your top rankings on Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Why do you have to use Internet marketing? A silly question, ole pal! It should be: what's the fuss about your NOT using Internet marketing?
