The person reading your copy will get a sense that you're speaking only to him/her if you write using the word, "you." Doing so will create a more personal feeling and helps to draw the reader in more. You will be making that all-important connection which will help to overcome resistance. People will only buy from you when they feel a relationship with you. That's the emotion which you need to invoke to keep the reader interested and ultimately lead them to the buy button.
You must keep in mind the AIDA formula when writing your sales copy. Attention, Interest, Desire, Action is what AIDA is, and that represents the process you take the reader through in you sales material. Don't worry too much about long copy, just accomplish your objectives in your sales copy. In your copy, be sure to talk about any possible questions, or objections too, that you think your reader may have as your copy is being read.
All in all, there are many ways you can develop your copywriting skills, but you have to keep learning and practicing to reach a good level. Some of the best copywriters did not even start with any marketing experience, but improved their skills until they could create the kind of copy others pay them for. If you want to get better, you have to practice and make progress at your own pace. After all, knowing how to write good sales copy equals to making money on demand.
